Hi guys, merry Christmas to all by the way. Today was the lucky day I received a new bk xls200 mk2 df subwoofer for my home cinema system. So far I am blown away by its output and power. I was wondering however is it possible to blow this woofer with the volume dial at about 11 o clock. The only reason for this question is that it seems very powerful and I am worried it could blow, or is it perfectly safe to have it at this level. You may think this is a silly question however I have never experienced bass like this before. Any help or tips would be much appreciated, I don't want to damage this wonderful sub is all :) Have a merry Christmas and a happy new year!

Regarding the humming, contact BK and they will send you another power lead that will greatly reduce the hum.
I had the hum on my Xls400 and the new lead got rid of it.

Might be also worth giving them a ring when they open after the Christmas break as they sometimes are a bit slow at responding to emails.

11 oclock is the average level most people will have it at. It's absolutely fine.

Depending on your AVR though, that may be sending a stronger signal than necessary. Have you run any calibration since you got the sub?

I have already calibrated the front and surrounds so the subwoofer is set at 0db along with the fronts with the surrounds at -10db. To my ears it all sounds very balanced and impressive, just don't want to risk ruining the sub! However it should be fine!

Thanks a lot for the responses, moving from an old 8" wharfedale sub with around 70w rms and chuffed heavily at anything below 35hz I have been seriously blown away by the performance of this tiny subit. Well done BK!
