I notice BK give a choice of a mono or stereo RCA lead. Excuse my ignorance but what would be the advantage of a stereo lead for what is a a mono speaker?

If your amp didn't have a dedicated sub output, but did have a spare set of stereo preouts you could send the subwoofer a stereo signal and use the crossover on the sub for bass management.

Thanks for that. So you are better off using the dedicated subwoofer output from the receiver or does it not matter?

If you are using an AV receiver, use the subwoofer output - it's all you need.

You were right in wondering what the point of the stereo lead was, as the sub is mono, but pure stereo amps lack the ability to combine the two signals into a mono one for the sub, so you feed the sub both and let it do the combining.

In AV, the amp does this for you amongst other things.
