Hi sorry for the silly question (I'm quite new to this forum).

I understand from other threads that BK manufacture for other brands - does anyone know if the Rel Quake is the XLS 200 rebadged?

They do look rather similar but are different inside where it counts most. The BK sub uses a quality Peerless driver but I don't know what the equivalent inside the REL is.

The XLS200 is a very different beast with a 10" driver whilst the Quake is smaller and "only" has an 8" driver diameter. The XLS200 also has more than double the power at 275W compared to the Quake's 100W, I'm not sure how conservatively rated either of those figures are.

Specification wise, the XLS200 is closest to the Rel Q200 although the Rel has a slightly larger cabinet. :)

I might be wrong but I seem to recall reading somewhere that the original Rel Quake (which may not have been sold in the UK) had a 10" driver. Putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5 could it be that the BK XLS200 are actually the same (or almost the same) subs.

    Thanks for all the comments.

It looks like its a difficult one to gauge but could be!

Does anyone know if the XLS is any good?

Including three threads visible on the subwoofer home page, one of which is fairly lengthy

Don't know if you were aware but BK made much (if not all) of the electronics for the original Q series of REL subwoofers. They make the innards for several manufacturers' subs.

    Hi all

There was a 10" Quake that was sold only in europe, this had a 50W amplifier based on the Q50 it bares no resemblance to the XLS200 whatsoever. The XLS200 has by a large margin a better driver and a far superior amplifier, I wouldn't mention these two subs in the same breath.
