Ive just clicked onto the Gift voucher link on CD WOWs website and you can get a gift voucher sent to any address you like for free, but the strange thing is that a 15 pound voucher costs you 16 quid and a 20 pound voucher is 21 quid - isnt it more cost effective just to send someone the cash

And also bizarrely instead of emailing the voucher to your recipient they post it - a bit strange in this day and age for an online retailer to be doing this instead of just sending an email with the voucher code on it for redemption on the website.

That does seem a bit odd, maybe it's worth emailing them to find out why there's a difference.

With Amazon you can choose the paper gift voucher or an email version.

IIRC you do pay a bit extra for the paper version to cover postage - perhaps that's what's happening here?...PJ :)

Perhaps they reckon than if they didn't charge postage for the voucher, then didn't charge postage on the DVD you bought with the voucher, they are in effect absorbing two lots of free postage which must eat into their margin too much...PJ :)

Could be! Either that or the price of the dvd covers the postage. This wouldn't be the case for a voucher which is effectively cash.

it says on the site that the voucher will be posted free of charge - it just costs you more to buy the actual voucher than its worth !!!

can you use a money off link to buy a voucher, maybe they have done it to stop people getting 2 lots of money off by buying the voucher with a link and then using the voucher with another link.
