Hello everyone! I'm new to this forum but it seems to be very informative! I'm about to buy a Plasma screen TV for the first time and would like to pick yours brains with which one to get! I haven't got the vast knowledge that most of you seem to have so I would like some advice. i've got around £1500 to spend and would like to get one which is HD ready. Could anyone please point me in the right direction! I may be able to push my budget to £2000 but would prefer to spend £1500. If anyone has any good advice with which model to get and also any good links that you may have! Thanks look forward to hearing from you.

coughing is great and all that - but give us reasons why you went for the panasonic 37" or the 6600. I am in the same boat - would like to read a reason why you went for that TV or why you wouldnt go for another :)

You have to read up and search out places where you can see these screens in action. You also need to decide if you are in the market for a TV or if you would like to go the screen only route and use other sources for your tuner and sound setup rather than the built tuners and speakers on the TV type plasmas.

Your eyes will determine what you like and this forum can help you determine what is popular and why.

There are loads of other criteria, like do you want High Definition ready or compatible, HD Ready usually comes with a price tag which is either in pounds or picture quality.

These are all things that you should use the forum to learn about to make sure you make an informed decision on a very expensive purchase.

Other than that, welcome to the forum and enjoy the research, it's all part of the fun.

    I agree

The info is all in this forum.

I like my Hitachi 7200 :smashin:

But others like the Panasonics :smashin:

There are ups and downs (although I haven't seen many downs for the H)

Search and read, by all means :smashin:

But at the end of the day, go and see for yourself.

It really is the only way.

To be fair I can't recommend anywhere on this forum to view Hitachi screens, but there are places on here to view Pannys.

Read into that what you will :suicide:

Best of luck mate, you'll probably make the wrong choice, whatever you do, but decent plasma is fine, trust me

if you are after a 42"er the only option currently available within your price range is the sammy s5h , i do stand to be corrected though.
