    Hey

I'm in desperate need of anyone's help !!! I've just installed Vista as I plan to use the 360 Games Everywhere or whatever interface.

So anyone the Bioshock demo work's fine on XP but the screen goes black and then it just goes back to the desktop on Vista.

I'm running a Macbook Pro and yes it can run it, on Xp it ran at Max settings fine. The drivers on NVidia's website don't work and I've also tried downloading the demo again from Steam.

The GFX card is 8600m GT aswell.

    Any help?

Try the Nvidia Beta drivers, there have been some updates in the Beta drivers specifically for Bioshock

Therein lies the problem that little letter m in the graphic card title - you need a modified inf file to fool vista into installing the drivers on a laptop (something to do with the fact that the laptop manufacturer not nvidea should supply the drivers). See this thread for more explanation and a url where you can download the inf file and the driver:

I'd also recommend installing the newest directx 10 drivers from here.

I was having exactly the same black screen problem with the Vista demo (from steam) and installing directx again made it work for me (and for others too as I found this hint on another forum).
