I have finally got round to fixing up my xbox to a projector and a 106" screen and the results are superb. Burnout 3 is simply mindblowing but I was also looking for something that scares the sh*t out of me in a darkened room with 5.1 sound. Any suggestions? I've heard that Silent Hill 4 is scary but I have never played any of these games so I'm not sure. Thanks.

Any survival horror game would probably be worth trying. Ive got an xbox/projector/5.1 setup aswell. Only survival horror ive got is Obscure, which is a very average res evil type game. It has made me jump a couple times tho so far, although that could be down to the volume i had my speakers at as much as anything else! I still want to get hold of The Suffering. Yeah Silent Hill 2 and 4 are probably worth trying, havent played em myself. The Thing is a fairly eerie game to play aswell, and it goes for around a fiver in second hand shops these days :)

i would assume that resident evil on gamecube would be fantastic but have yet to try it as my component lead is in the post and that yellow composite thing is garbage. re burnout 3, playing on a projector is like playing a different game - really takes your breath away.

agreed, the composite lead is terrible, there doesnt seem to be a scart alternative though.. apparently the RGB one doesn't have seperate audio cables, so you have to use your TV speakers

As for games to play, try:
    PSone: Resident Evil 2 & 3, Nightmare Creatures 1 & 2
    PS2: Project Zero 1 & 2, Silent Hill 3 & 4, Resident Evil Codename Veronica
Gamecube: Resident Evil REmake, Resident Evil 0
PC: Undying, Doom 3, System Shock 2, Alien Vs Predator 1 & 2
    sorry - no xbox experience.
