big optical zooms

    im after a new digital camera, with a nice big optical zoom, above 5x optical zoom.

    i had the olympus 765, but after something more stylish and smaller.

    I think the 765 along with the 770 is the smallest 'big' zoom you can get, so if you want a smaller camera your going to have to sacrifice the zoom I'm afraid. The size your looking for comes with mostly 3 to 3.2x and 4x at best.

    Have a look at the Panasonic FZ5 - probably the best in category for it's size and long zoom...has excellent Image stabilisation as well which would have been a big help on the 765.

    A good bit bigger than the 765 though, and size (and style) seems to have been the biggest problem with the 765 for scratchyjase.

    Are you sure ? - I don't think there's a great deal of difference in size.
