I hope they don't use that comical music they used in the original, plus the other scenes that made me cringe with embarassment. ie sequences of zombies pushing supermarket trollies, zombies walking and slipping on the ice rink, etc.

It seems that no sooner than Diane Lane sees her career finally take-off big time, she
wants to screw it up again by doing this unnessecary remake.

Personally, I don't see this happening. I hope it doesn't. For DOTD's sake, for Diane
Lane's sake, and for our sakes.

With the success of the supernatural, 'intelligent' horror films and the subsequent success of post-Scream, straight slasher pics it sems that the horror genre is back from the grave to make a few more $$$.

That means you're going to see re-make after re-make.

I'm sure it's only a matter of time before some Hollywood hotshot decides it's time to resurrect 'The Beyond'...

Being the greatest horror movie ever made, I feel that if they even thought about such a ridiculous project I'd have no alternative but to give the plumber treatment to whichever studio exec green lit it.

Remaking DOTD is a very bad idea. Why not invest some cash in an original idea?

Remaking DOTD is virtual heresy !!!!

It will never have the impact of the original. Stupid idea altogether.

The advantage of a remake, even in the case of DOTD, is that you have the opportunity to not have ugly actors! The helicopter pilot in the first is my first thought. The lady also wasn't exactly a Diane Lane. (Oooh bitchy :)).

However, it will have to be a truely awesome film to outdo the original. It has pride of place in my collection, a prize win R2 version, fully inclusive of all the gore. Love it when the bikers have their bodies munched and chewed in the mall near the end. Oh what joy.
