    Hi all

Just getting my head around a new speaker package & I have seen a few posts about people Bi-Wire (ing) their speakers. I have no clue what this is!

Question if I may, what is Bi-Wire? is it any better than just a normal speaker cable connection?

Apologies for my lack of knowledge!

    Many Thanks

    Conor

Biwiring does nothing that a decent single cable can not do. If your speaker has 2 sets of speaker terminals on the back then you can biwire which is taking two speaker cables from the one output on the AVR to the 2 sets of connections on the back of the cable. This effectively gives you a larger cross sectional area of copper to the speakers which can be achieved with just a single cable or decent thickness.

If you have spare wire laying around, give Bi-Wiring a try, experience is never wasted ... just don't expect much. There is some pseudo-logic to explain Bi-Wire, but there is really very little evidence that it does anything.
