BI-AMP with ALPHA 9p and ANOTHER MANUFACTURER INTEGRATED? CRAZY? WORKS?

As people on this forum know i HAVE alpha 9P POWER AMP
, and am enthusiastic about BI-AMPING.

Any of you folks tried BI-AMPing with two different amps:
eg. NAD 350 for high frequencies and ALPHA 9p for mid/low?

Doesnt have to be NAD, i cant get my hands on Arcam gear but here I have choice from Nad, Rotel, and other...

Could this combo work and what are disadvantages?

I'm sure there's people on this forum that can give better advice but I would have thought you'd be better off selling the 9p and buying a pair of Nad or Rotel power amps. Alternatively, if you don't have a local Arcam dealer try an pick up something suitable in the classifieds to go with the 9p.

There was a guy selling a 290p which as I've been told is almost identical to the 9p on the inside. I think he's put it on ebay now but it's definitely a good match.

As long as the gain levels of the amps match each other then there should be no problems.

Crusty, AFAIK technical data says that even Arcam amps have different gain (arcam support claims different).

Just want to know if anyone has done this in real life.

Some people suggest Rotel for high frequencies, but I dont know...
