I got the R1 dvd and its pretty good - especially if you like the series. Only problem with the R1 release is its had a few seconds of gore cut :(

I keep falling asleep in my R1 Special Edition Re-animator, will have to give it another go. I loved the film in the 80s.

That and the zombie film, can't remember the title but had zombie half section dogs and "a big black slimey" one.

Rent it from Choices or Blockbusters, then decide if you wanna buy it. I love Re-animator, but was very underwhelmed by this.

I was very impressed with this one, and liked it more than Bride. (but obviously less than Re-animator)

The gore was pretty contained, and the character development was very well done. There were a few parts that had me shaking my head, but nothing any sillier than stitching batwings on a head, enabling it to fly around.

Oh, and the love interest is HOT!

Personally I didn't find it anywhere near as good as the first 2, but then Brian Yuzna seems to have lost what little talent he had for direction over the years. Same could be said for Stuart Gordon the director of the first ReAnimator, which is still head and shoulders above the other 2. Beyond... seemed to me to have a lot of good ideas that couldn't be followed through, more due to the lack of imagination to build on them than lack of money in the budget.

Beyond ReAnimator reminded me of the latest Jean Claude Van Damme movie, In Hell:laugh: but not quite as entertaining.

Don't know if you're being serious, or not - but i wholeheartedly agree.
