'Breaking Bad' Saul Goodman Spinoff On AMC -- Series To Serve As Prequel
Better Call Saul!: The 80's Breaking Bad...Watch this video on YouTube
In the process of marathoning Breaking Bad, just got to the first episode with Saul in it, s02e08, originally had my reservations over this spin off, however after watching Saul doing his thing for the first time, this new show definitely has possibilities
Not too sure about this as whilst I think Saul is a great character his comedic relief is sometimes needed to break the tension in BB but a full show of him? That said if Gilligans in charge perhaps there's nothing to worry about.

Saul Goodman is perfect Spin-Off material
ahh i didn't realize this show was going to be set chronologically before he became walts lawyer - there goes any hope of seeing/hearing any references/appearances by Jessie then!?
The first two seasons were aired in the uk on 5usa a few
Years back.Breaking Bad was a great show but not many viewers were interested before the netflix hype.
Seriously, when the going gets tough, you don't want a criminal lawyer. Alright, you want a criminal lawyer. You know what I'm saying?
I think the fourth and fifth paragraphs need amending - there seems to be some duplication!
I'd watch this, as I think Saul was quite an interesting premise and the goofiness could be toned down if he was the protagonist. I believe he didn't have such a major role in the original script of BB, but when he worked out so well, Vince Gilligan decided to expand on his part.
Let's hope not. I hope they never do anything set after the last episode, it was a perfect ending
I hope Mike and Gus feature.
Premieres November 2014
- Breaking Bad's Mike Ehrmantraut as played by Jonathan Banks, is back in the prequel as a series regular
Great news, Mike is a brilliant character.
Excellent news and hopefully a sign that it may be quite dark and serious in places as let's face it Mike wasn't known for his comedy
Ehrmantraut in the new series but who else would you like to see make the transition from Breaking Bad?

As mentioned above, definitely want to see Gus feature, would like to see the background to his development into the character we see in BB (fleshed out from all of the swimming pool related incidents).
Lydia could well feature as well, though I'm slightly ambivalent about her highly-strung, humourless character. A character arc showing her as a much more relaxed and pleasant person prior to becoming embroiled in illegal activities, eventually ending up as the character we see in BB, would be interesting.
Lydia is possibly a good shout now Mike has been confirmed, there is definitely history between them two!
Excellent news. Really looking forward to this show, and for once, a character in a hit show really does deserve a spin-off. It's a pity that Huell wasn't there from the start of Saul's BB appearences, as he would be a great addition to Better Call Saul.
Would also like to see Robert Forster's mysterious Ed character appear in Saul's show, possibly with storylines running parallel to Saul's showing how he got into his "witness relocation programme" line of work. He was sadly underused in BB, would be good for him to have a bigger part in this.
Looking forward to seeing Badger in it!
Can't wait to watch it. I was a nut for Breaking Bad, and had started watching from virtually the start. Shame to see that finish.
