I am going to buy a Sony SR-190 camera from www.bestcameras.co.uk

I've never used them before and am a little worried about spending that amount of money with a company that I don't know.

I don't want to use my credit card (which would give me protection) as I get extended warranty on electrical goods thorough my debit card.

So, my question: has anybody used them before and are they any good?

Ive never personally used them but

I recall someone here in the recent past bought an HC3 off them and the service was said to be good
On arrival the box seemed to have been opened and it was wondered if the unit was a demo or box had been opened for inspection to see the if items were complete prior to shipping

It was resolved amicably ( I think he returned it and got an unopened one)

What may be reassuring is that they are contactable by phone , and also actually have a shop you ar welcome to walk into in the Liverpool area
as opposed to an anonymous website with email communication only

I've not used them either... but they are a long established company (they have been trading since 1983). Customer feedback on pricerunner.co.uk is very good. They clearly are a legit retailer.

    Hi Matt

just read your thread I bought a sony 190 with my credit card as i get the same extended warrenty with a Nationwide credit card. However when i phoned Nationwide to register the camcorder they would not extend the warrenty as it had a hard drive so beware.
