    hi all :hiya:

i don't suppose anyone could help me out please? i'm after both a gamecube [for my brother for xmas] and an xbox [for myself :D he he] who knows the best deals going??? is it you sir? or possibly you madam?

i've just been into tescos at dinner and seen an xbox for around 140 [a little less i think???] that came with...the console [obviously  ;)] a controller s, midtown madness 3, halo and amped 1. seems pretty good, but i remember someone posting about an offer that comet or currys were doing that had four games...

...as far as the gamecube goes then i'm not really too sure. i've seen the mario kart package with the older zelda games but am convinced i could get a better deal somewhere [?]

    best console bundles this way

    thanks peeps!!!

Game are doing the XBox with Controller 'S', Halo. MM3 and 2 others which I cannot remember for £139.99. Not a bad deal. Or you can have console only for £109.99.

You may wish to have a look at their web site http://www.game.uk.com

Got the deal from Game (Ireland).

New unit (obviously) - version 1.5 so will require soldering.

Earlier versions had a "pogo pin" mod available.

Something to bear in mind :)

    hi Kramer

thanks for the warning...its definetly something i should have considered and hadn't until now  thanks

cheers Lex, i'll have a look. i used to buy quite a lot from gameplay 'back in the day' when i had money! lol its been quite i while since i've bought anything from them [from what i can remember anyway! lol], so its about time i had a look at their site.

just to let you know, i scanned over games site and their deals didn't look 'all that' unfortunately :( no 'super-duper' bundles to speak of...whether they chop n change their offers every few days i don't know  perhaps if i were to wait a couple of days the 'good' deals may return...???

    thanks again everyone!
keep those suggestions coming in! ;)

if interested I have a Black Cube with 2 official black controllers, RGB scart lead, 4x Memory card, and 6 games which are Mario Kart, Mario Sunshine, Zelda, Bomberman, Luigis Mansion and Pikmin. The cube is 4 months old and is boxed with receipts and the only reason I'm selling is that its a UK cube and doesnt support progressive scan for my new plasma TV.

    hiya hOwLa :)

thanks for the offer but i'm pretty sure my budget wouldn't be able to stretch that far   ...it appears you have quite a lot to go with the 'cube and i'm only really after a deal with limited games [as well as no steering wheels and guns etc] in a hope to keep the price low :)

again, i appreciate you posting :smashin:
everyone else...keep 'em coming! ;) all the best bundles around for both the gamecube and xbox...
i checked out gameplay and they seem to be selling a pretty good deal. the 'base' 'box with the two games and rainbow six 3 for about 155 but i'm still quite tempted by the deal at tesco...need to think whether i'd actually play amped though! lol

its not getting any easier for me lol

    lol :D

thanks for all that Lex :smashin:

thats really spooky though as game didn't have that offer on their site last night  anyway, i remember looking a while back and seeing that offer change every few days...as originally it came with the same as you describe but moh instead of ford racing...then again with...eeerrr can't remember what now, but it definately changed and now you've posted the link to this one! :D lol does sound tempting though. but having said that i already own timesplitters [both] and i don't care too much for the ford jobby so the gameplay/tesco ones are sounding pretty attractive atm...

gamecube, i'd would ideally like to get with a game or two ;) and think the one kart with the ol' zelda games pack sounds the best atm...annoying as i remember seeing it with another game or two for the same price...hhhmmm...sounds familiar, could it possibly be on games website again! :D:rolleyes: lol!

anyway, some things have cropped up that may make my decision for me :( so i'll have to wait and see on that one, as to whether i'll be able to buy one, both or none...

you're all stars! thanks a million for all your help so far. i'm still interested if anyone else knows of some top bargains to be had [and i'm sure others are too!] so keep 'em rolling in ;)

    cheers me dears

You can buy a brand new XBox with controller but no games for £109.99 at Game. Gotta be worth the extra tenner to have a brand spanking shiny new one. Well, maybe not shiny :)

Couldn't you go for the Toys R Us deal then take the games you don't want to Game and swap them for those that you do want?

    'fraid not buddy :(

i think i've only seen the console [and at a high price to boot ]

on my way back from work i popped in to my local game and they've sold out of the mario kart/old zelda games 'cube bundle! :thumbsdow doh!

i like buying from game for the reassurance of being able to take it back etc as this is gonna be a prezzie. said they won't be getting any before xmas when i asked but added they wouldn't get any again as it was kind of a one off

hey ho  i'll keep looking though :D as there is a smaller game store within the department store so they may have some left...

still searching...and you should be too! ;)
now go find the best deals my friends! lol

    thanks SO much guys!!!

i'll have to see what shape my finances are in come next thursday then ;)...i didn't realise gamestation were selling that cheap atm, as it was only about a week or two ago when i contacted them about second hand pricing and it was really close to the new price. [they mustn't have altered the prices to fall in line with the massive price cuts when i rang]

    i'll investigate tomorrow :)

    you are all stars!
    any more...;)
