most people say a hcpc will give best results by using the vga on the panny

i have a tosh 510 connected to the ptae through component connectors and the picture is excellent using the ntsc progressive mode improvers it even more

jayk - I suggest you make yourself a very big cup of tea,
set aside an hour and have a read of the Denon 2800 artifact thread.

then if you still want to get a 2800... fine, but have a read first.

I got myself a second hand iScan pro and it was the best thing I ever did..:) I have a progressive player but there's no difference in picture quality with iScan..the biggest benefit now being that I have Sky and my games consoles also put through it..awesome upgrade IMO..;)

    I also have the Panny..

    sounds good, museumsteve.

the Iscan is the same chipset as the Denon 2800 so should be pretty good.

was thinking of going this way myself or the HTPC route maybe.

jayk.. also consider the ProV/ TV-4000 that some people are using, only costs about £150. this upgrades everything composite/svideo (vcr, sky, dvd, etc) to various flavours of VGA (upto XGA). the Panasonic is supposedly best with a VGA signal and others have had very good results with similar DVD players to yours.

av-sales is doing a 10 or 14 day returns policy on it so wouldn't cost you much, if anything, to try.
