    hi

in the not to distant future im looking into getting a TH42PWD8 panasonic plasma screen and was wondering what would be the best way to connect my sony VTX-D800 freeview box

will scart RGB give me a good pic or shall i buy a RGB scart to component converter or some sort of RGB scart to VGA lead ??

also will there ever be a freeview box with a HDMI connection ?

    Thanks

Try RGB Scart and s-video and see which one works the best, or if you're not too attached to your freeview box get a Netgem Iplayer for about £80 (or £40 or so secondhand) and output component over scart into it ;)

It depends on which input cards you get with the plasma. If you have a scart input then stick with scart to scart from STB to plasma. If you have a card that can accept RGBcvS then scart to 4 phono cable will do the same as above.
IMO you should keep the Sony Freeview box as it has great PQ. I have seen many posts stateing that the component output from the Netgem iPlayer is very soft and the RGBcvS output is far better, so no point in changing the STB.

If your plasma just has VGA, I can recommend John Sims RGB to VGA convertor boxes.
