    hi guys,

Im finally oin the verge of entering the world of battlefield (played bad company and liked it and sadly havent been back since) and was wondering which way is best to purchase this:

    a) Buy new now
    b) Buty second hand - and most likely having to buy the online pass (which is a must need?)
    c) Wait for the special edition with all the mpa packs which iscoming out in a couoke of weeks? - how much and are the map packs? and are all of them out yet?

    Welcome back!

I'd check in the classifieds on here first. I've seen a couple going with the code unused for a reasonable price.

It would be worth getting Premium if you’re planning to play a lot. You'll get all current and up and coming DLC. Its 4000 Microwave points which is alot but that’s four lots of DLC included and a few extra bits.

    :)

4000pts?!!? thats pretty much over £30, the new games just under £40 so may as well go for that!

so is there 4 DLC's out already with a 5th coming out? I just want to know because with COD and Gears coming out in a few months to several months, I cant see myself being able to wait much longer for DLC's

The Premium pack is an "extra" on top of the game price, so £40 for the game and 4000msp for the Premium pack
    The DLC will include...........

    Back to Karkland DLC
    Close Quarters DLC
Armoured Kill DLC (release tomorrow :smashin:)

The 3rd lot of DLC is coming out tomorrow with a 4th coming out in March. Each one has 4 new maps.

If you dont have premium you can of course play on the AVF server as that only runs one set of DLC (Back to Kackhand) as it is. We dont want to exclude those without!

woah.....thank god I asked on here before purchasing then! so the premium is just an expansion pack with the map dlc's? so I'd need to get a game AND an online code as well? awww man, this is becoming more and more of an investment!

So looking at £25 for game, £40 maps! I assume getting the map packs seperately works out more :(

As Sid says, this is the version to get. Full version of the game, plus Premium access so you get all DLC (now and future) included in the price.

Oh, and make sure you have a ton of space free on your xbox HD, like 20GB free.

As Sid says, wait a few days and get the premium addition and you've got the game, all current DLCs and all future DLCs pre-paid. If you don't have the game, this is definitely the pack to get.

ahhh cool, yeah, thats what I originally meant with that premium edition, if second hand is like £20 and new being £25 (maps over £30) then thats the obvious choice. Just got confused when someone mentioned the premium pack is an extra on top of the game.

BUT.....20gb!?!?!?!? I only have an old school 20gb and ive been running low on memory on that thing for years now! Damn you battlefield, does this now mean I have to fork out for a 40/60gb!!! its never easy

If you're happy to run the game off disc's you wont need that much space. Probably still need a chunk of space for the DLC and updates however.

Perfect excuse for an S. ;)

Well, the current patch and the armoured kill DLC is around 3GB. Karkand and Close quarters were another couple of GB. The texture pack is 1.5GB. There are 2 more sets of DLC to come, probably another GB or so each. This is without installing the MP game disk.

I'd say it would be difficult to find space on a 20GB drive for everything. You can pick up 120GB drives for the Elite at a reasonable price these days or maybe get a large USB stick?

Nope, Aftermath in December and then End Game in March. DLC is in 3 month intervals.

So, if I buy the new "Premium Edition" for £38, sell my existing copy secondhand for about £20 - I'd get all five map packs for around £18? That doesn't sound too shabby, well, it wouldn't, if I didn't already have B2K & CQ :D ... Still could be worth it I guess (Roughly £6 for each of last map packs).

Anyone know if the current three map packs will come on a disc in the box, or will it just be a code to download the content online? (I assume probably the latter).

I'd expect a code, the game is on two disks as it is.

I was thinking of going premium as i bagged my first AVF tags from Nevcfc yesterday and i have been admiring my 'Precious' since :D

I reckon I will get the premium edition from Amazon and sell off my current copy at CEX or somewhere like that. Its worth £12 or so last time i checked.

I havent even played the single player

    And you never should :lesson:
Trust me, I have not even completed it and have no intention of going back to it after the Jet Level  :boring::boring:

Your really not missing out so dont worry.

I need to have a go at Co-op at some point though as I want the weapons.
Anyone fancy a bit of Co-op..........warning though I am terrible at Co-op. MP I can hold my own but when it comes to Co-op against AI I suck ass

Oh yes, Co-Op, i was also going to ask about that. Is the MP7 as good as it is in that other shooter?

You know, that shooter that makes you want to punch a baby?

I also need to get the co-op missions sorted.

I really like the MP7. I currently use it when playing as Recon. You have to really accurate with it at first, due to its small clip size, but once you unlock the extended mag you can take down a few people before a reload.

The SG553 is a decent Engineer gun and the 93R is a nice auto pistol (a bit like the G18).
