ok guys really need your help.been looking and researching
for ages getting a new t.v.old t.v was 37”plasma(I wish they
still made them).anyway the story is that my wife won a 43”
Hisense 5700 tv I ummed and aarghed and researched this
tv(and to be honest although it wasn’t the tv i wanted I
decided to give it a go)to be fair to it it looks pretty good
(when you look at it straight on).but I don’t I’m stuck out
at an angle on the sofa when we both watch tv.anyway it
shows how much I took the plasma for grantedespecially
the viewing angle as the deterioration on new tv is quite
noticeable.anyway not sure if I’m going to be able to
live with it like that(unless I have no option please don’t
tell me I have no other option).so what I need is help to
source another tv with a really good viewing angle(please)
and obviously good pictureunfortunately the biggest
size screen I can accommodate is 50”(it really is)
price is not a problem I’ve decided I will spend whatever
it takes.so guys come on tell me what is available (please)
thanks john

Look for a TV with IPS or OLED LG TVs are very good some Sony & panasonic use them but need to research which ones.

thanks guys i would of had an oled
ages ago but who said size doesn’t
matterany more thoughts
greatly appreciated

I know it sounds like I’m getting fussy now
but are there any that j.l or richer sounds
sell(guarantee and all that)
thanks john

Panasonic’s FX range of TVs are IPS and available from Richer Sounds. Will more than likely be on a par with the LG sets.

so dodgexander are you saying the fx
range are by far and away the best?
or are the others pretty close
thanks again

I think that the best for picture quality are probably the FX Panasonic's or the Sony XE80/XE83 series or 2018 XF80 but they tend to be overpriced, if you are willing to pay the extra you get better picture processing on these models but they aren't too far ahead than the ones I linked before so probably not worth the extra.

Panasonic's EX600/EX580 are basic models on par with the Sony 70 series.

This TV isn't so bad value: Philips 49PUS6803 (TVs)

Do you care about smart TV?

The Sony 80xx series use Android which isn't the best for most people whilst the cheap 70xx series has a more basic smart system that isn't as feature-full but has all the basic apps and generally performs better.

The Philips smart TV is basic like the Sony 70 series.

The Panasonic smart TV is okay, nothing too good or bad.

If you want better smart TV over picture quality then the LGs are good options at 49".

can’t say smart features are a major
thing for me picture quality is far more
important

Then I'd just get one of the 3 models I first suggested. I find it hard to justify the extra is worth it for only better picture processing. If you are willing to wait then maybe the Panasonic FX series will be better value spring/summer next year.

just like to thank everybody for all there
help today it really is appreciated
off to work now but I’ll be back

Yamaha 107 is a decent option. Or you could get a soundbase - Q Acoustics, Cambridge and Canton do good ones.

Or there’s the Beam, but that’s £400.

Thanks zeppelino could I just ask something got
strange thing happening(to me anyway)I have the
TV set up to run through b@w m1 speakers connected to teac amp
it is connected with tosh link cable from tv connected to small cheap
dac convertor then cables connected to back of dac into back of amp
(hope that makes some sort of sense)anyway this is the strange
thing when I play Netflix through my TiVo remote using there app
it sounds good but when I try to play Netflix by pressing the
Netflix button on the Panasonic remote all I get is a load of
interference I’m sure there could be a simple solution I just
don’t know what it is?

Set the TV's audio to output stereo pcm only and not pass through or bitstream.

Hi again I have hdmi audio format set to pcm(is that the
setting you mean)or is there another setting i need to
adjust.with it set like that it still gets the interference
on another note do you know where I can look for
best picture and sound settings for this t.v
thanks again

wow havent come across that yet any pointers as to where I find that?

It's in the advanced settings within the Sound menu.
