In your opinion what is the best value 28" widescreen available at the moment? Not a bargain basement screen, but a good brand available at a devent price.

    Thanks

In my opinion this is the best value 28" TV out tere at present. The Philips 28PW6006 for £199.99 from Argos - including free delivery and setup.

I own the 32" version for a few years now and its excellent quality. So much so, that when I seen this deal I bought it immediately for my mum. Its a very nice TV looks-wise as well.

You won't go wrong. Get it now. This is a limited time offer and I can't remember when it ends.

I'd spend a little more and get something with a flat CRT and a digital tuner if I were you. £350 would get you a Sony KD-28DL11 which has excellent picture quality, 7-day EPG and good digital text performance on top.

    Hi
Everyone seems to be reccommmending sets which are more than £200.
I like Daewoo's 2880 styling, but if you want a "good" make youll need to pay more than £200.
""The Philips 28PW6006 for £199.99 from Argos - including free delivery and setup."" Quote - This TV is more than £200 +del+set up in my Argos.

Sorry to jump in on the thread, but that philips looks tempting sok. 2 questions though - firstly, any idea how sensitive it is to magnets (my TV is between 2 unshielded speakers, and while my old philips 4:3 isn't affected by the speaker magnets a Sanyo widescreen I tried was...)? Also, call me tight, but is there anywhere I could price-match the TV with to get it even cheaper (well, I am a student...)

I bought that Philips TV from ebuyer, £181 plus postage - came to around the same price but it arrived in 2 days whereas Argos was a week or more from memory.

Amazing TV for the price...PJ

PJ, you haven't tried the Philips near any speakers? (I guess if I use Argos if it don't work in my lounge I *could* return it...) Oh yeah, and this is a flat screen?

    Hi,

I would like a flat screen, the Sony sounds about the right price range. Any other alternatives in this bracket?
