I've just re-done my study, and my old 19" monitor simply won't do, so I'd like to order a flat screen today.

I'm guessing there's a huge price difference (% wise) between 17 and 19", so I guess I'm more likely to get a 17. I really know nothing about what dot pitch etc I need. It will mainly be used for surfing and excel, and will no doubt get the odd game. I'd certainly like to keep it for many years.

Any suggestions for a great value screen?

    EDIT:
I've seen the 17" Digimate L-1718 TFT Monitor recommended here, and customer reviews at aria and amazon seem good. It's £140 inc VAT, +p&p

The 19" Digimate isn't too much more (£203 inc VAT +p&p)

Apart from the £63, any reason to choose the 17" (I see the 17" has a 12ms response time vs the 16ms of the 19", but I don't know how much difference that will make to me).

    Many thanks

    Anyone?

Should I buy the Digimate L-1718 for £151, or the L-1916 for £205?

Yeah, that's the kiddy (same website has same picture, price and spec for the Digimate). I'm just trying to choose between the 17" and 19". If the quality of the 19" is good enough, I'd get that. But I've never had a TFT, and while 16ms is a lot faster than many predecessors, I don't know if the 12ms of the 17" display is a worthwhile improvement, in exchange for the loss of size.
