What is the best tape for ET recording (no not extra terrestrial) on a Panasonic 960 or any machine with ET VHS and how does it compare with S-VHS. I have tried TDK EHG Hi-Fi and found the result very poor and got better results on entry-level tapes, but non-matched normal recording.

Stick with S-VHS tapes. S-VHS ET is a bit of a gimmick in my experience.

Got to agree with TOSHI I have the 860 ET...waste of time go for S-VHS tape every time, it's the only way to go and the tapes are not that expensive if you use them and the quality is not in the same league. The Standard VHS recordings are better than the S-VHS ET nomater what tapes you use and I have tryed lots.

Got to agree with both of the above observations. If you are having to ask the question about which tape is best then you may as well buy S-VHS tape in the first place!
