I've got a gold plated twin phono cable that I intend to use for my subwoofer connection. Which would be the best connection from the choice of the following:

Connect each end of ONE of the leads from the amp to subwoofer and leave the other lead dangling and not in use

    or

Connect BOTH leads to the subwoofer line level L + R, and plug the other ends into an old non-gold splitter I've found lying around in my room and then into the amp so that I can use the auto-power function without fear of it turning off midway through a quiet film?

Which one would be better and why?

    Any feedback is appreciated :)

This sounds like a classic case of "try it both ways and see which you prefer".
