    Hi all,

I've decided to replace my aging Toshiba SD2109 for something with progressive scan so that I can get the best picture out of my Sanyo Z1. I have seen the glowing reviews on the Pioneer 575 but there is a mention of jaggies and that's what I am trying to avoid. Any feedback from 575 owners or any other suggestions are welcome!

    Thanks,

The Toshiba SD240 has the sort of build I associate with sandwiches but does have a good PS picture and can be found for under £80. Yamaha's cheapie also comes well recommended.

Don't Toshibas usually have problems playing RCE films as I know my current model does?

Have you considered something like the Momitsu V880 that will upscale to 576p/720p/1080i etc and you can also create custom settings and timings to suit your Z1 native resolution?

I've not really heard anything about the momitsu player, is it any good and where can you get them from?

I quite like the look of the Pioneer 575 or 470 but I can't seem to find anywhere with stock. My local RS seem to think they are getting some in on Tuesday but I wouldn't want to bet on it!

I'm running the 575 Pioneer through a Benq 6200 DLP in prog mode. Stunning in every respect. Set up as 100" diagonal, I've no critisisms what-so-ever. In terms of PQ, the Pioneer seems to be the price/performance winner right  now. Pity about the DVDA/SACD......but that's another thread!

    Hi Chris,

Thanks for your post! I'm not too bothered about SACD or DVD-A so I might go for the DV-470 which I believe it exactly the same as the DV-575 but without the extra music formats. I've just got to find someone with stock!

It looks like Richer Sounds have come through in the end! Just rang my local branch and they are reserving me a DV-575 @ £119.95 (matching their on-line store).

I was going to get a DV-470 but I couldn't find anywhere that would ship it to my work address so I thought better of it.

I will post my thoughts on the DV-575 once I have got it all set up.

    Thanks for everyones input!
