No love for the Yamaha YSP-2700??

Seems like the go to Soundbar these days, especially with it being readily available for under £600 at most places & does all but the Atmos stuff the twice as expensive Sony & even more than the Sonos has to offer

Nice little write up though, was a good read :)

I have the Yamaha YSP-2700, it truly is an incredible piece of kit for the price. I imagine my neighbours hate me at times.

Yeah I'm happy with mine now I fixed my HDR issue

It actually works so much better than I expected & I don't miss my full 5.1 setup half as much as I thought I would

Agh I want!!! Mrs will want me to send straight back though
Lol don't tell her
Smuggle it in & setup then have a new handbag or pair of shoes in a strategic location to distract her & then carry on as if nothing has changed

The correct answer is the Yamaha. I have have the 2500 and it's fantastic. Probably be cheap now as well.
Seems odd that no Yamaha appeared here at all especially considering how well reviewed they are & they do everything you want & then some

Can't believe there's no YSP-2700 .
I expected more than three soundbars and found the article rather lacking and not because mine wasn't included. Is there a pt2 to come?

Just tell her next door have got a new system & it's super loud & isn't she glad you don't have anything like that now ;)

No me either, still such a weird choice to exclude it.

The article was very bare bones, on subsequent readings it really feels like little effort went into it & just a quick copy & paste job.

No real comparison work or anything on any of the 3 choices

Lol dammit...worth a shot ;)

Honestly thought even my mum who hated me having speakers everywhere in my house is impressed with how the Soundbar integrates into the setup & even comments how nice it looks...if I can convert my mum then there must be some hope for you ;)

Question - why the PlayBar not the PlayBase, which is surely in the same category (unless you make it one all its own, which is silly), costs the same and adds a Sub, AirPlay 2 and touch control? (Although Sonos have just changed the way the PlayBase sounds, so all reviews kinda aren't any more...)

After extensive reading and viewing of articles and video reviews of soundbar solutions I had thought I needed the wait for the Sonos Beam. But, then I listened to the Yamaha YAS107 in a store and realised that it offered everything the Beam had and more, for nearly half the price. I had an early YSP soundbar more than five years ago but sold it in a moment of Gumtree madness. SWMBO has a low tolerance for what she views as “unnecessary expense - the tv speakers are fine” but when I fitted the YSP107 she was immediately very happy. And it helps that the grandchildren love the immersive sound on their Disney movies. I’ve read the reviews of the YSP2700 but she would not tolerate my indulgence that far. Or is it ‘indulge my tolerance’?..... the world cup games are great on surround sound!! Thankfully she loves football;-)
