    AND THE OSCAR GOES TOO...

Best sound recording on films now on DVD, form the past to the present day.

From the vitaphone too fantasound westrex and Todd-Ao…

All recoded and released in Dolby stereo digital surround and EX and dts.

There is a whole lot of DVDs that are available many of which have one the Academy award for best achievement in sound over the years I have tried to grab as many of this titles as possible, the titles I have so far are as follows.
And with Ray coming soon to region 2 I’ll pick that up along with the third lord of the rings film… the Deer Hunter and The Last Emperor not too sure if they have realised them in full six-track on region 2 as for Bird which is in full six-track Warner home video hasn’t realised it hear in the UK yet, unlike the USA, which as had it for about a year…

No way, the Mono track is far better than the 5.1 mix :lesson:

The 5.1 mix ruins the film, simple.

Master & Commander has pretty awesome sound. I'm expecting Phantom of the Opera to be pretty good too although haven't tested it yet!

Master and commander I have but won the Oscar for best sound effects editing 2003, and those cannon recoils are wickedly low at high SPL 110dbc LFE the rest of the sound imaging is fantastic…and best sound was The lord of the rings the return of the king 2003….though I have not go it as of yet soon…

Haven’t got The Phantom of the opera, may get it but it’s not best sound achievement, but hay why not have are own Oscars hear on the forums once every year….

    But hay…

    ….It’s only a movie…

    Alfred Hitchcock.

Phantom of the Operas sound is AMAZING. if you look at the review on these forums they are spot on.
watched it yesterday, and its simply astounding in DTS. after the first scene when the music kicks in my cat shat itself (jumped about 5 feet in the air).
this is one of my favourite films/musicals and they did it justice in the dvd.

    Hi, I'm new. Hello everyone!

    Anyway,

Titanic (DTS) is absolutely fantastic! King Kong and Spiderman 2 is also pretty well on the ear.
