Best software for editting dvd's from a Sky+ box

Greetings, any of you clever people out there give able to give a newbie advise on the best method of editting recordings of sky+ from a dvd recorder on the pc, eg taking out ads etc on programmes you want to keep?

Too much hassle on a PC - I use a stand-alone Panasonic DVD recorder with built in HDD, which makes editing a doddle.

Assuming it's just cutting/joining rather than full blown video editing, the best software is 'Videoredo' www.videoredo.com. Has even got an automatic ads detector!
