TheaterTek 1.5 is reported to have the best Sonic MPEG2 decoder filters with a great front-end.

    Picture quality comparisons I've done:
    TheaterTek 1.5 > TheaterTek 1.2 > ATI Player > WinDVD 2.7 > WinDVD 3 > PowerDVD 3

Great set-top type on-screen graphics. Always runs full-screen and feels just like a domestic player rather than pc software when controlled by remote.

Movie start bookmarks are great for pre-setting the dts or other soundtrack and going straight in to the film.

    Downsides are:
    1. Can judder a bit on some installations ocasionally, but ReClock seems to help this become pretty much unnoticeable.

    2. Replacement software activation key required by email in about <10 hours if you change your cpu, hard disc, motherboard, etc.

    3. No Dolby Pro-Logic2 decoding for older non-5.1 (2 channel) DVD's like PowerDVD 4 does (and I think the latest WinDVD 4+?). However this only is useable if you have a good quality 6 analog channel output soundcard. There are also reports that the imminent m-audio Revolution 6(7?)-channel card's on-board Circle Surround2 positional decoding is better than Pro-Logic2 so this is perhaps now a redundant DVD player feature.

    regards,
    Rob.
