I have an old Pace Sky Digibox (1.3.5 according to system information on screen). I notice Panasonic now do a sky receiver. Is there any difference in the quality of the decoded signals with an up to date receiver? Are there any other receivers other than Pace & Panasonic? Any info welcomed - reviews etc. I should have said I am feeding the RGB signal from AV1 scart into a Panny 5 using a Keene Syncblaster which sorts out the sync into V & H.

Picture and audio quality is pretty much the same for all Sky Digiboxes.

Some people reckon the SKY+ Digibox has the edge and some reckon that the Sony models are slightly worse.

But it's very subjective and totally dependent on your connection method and on the TV compatibility - some TV sets don't work at all well with the Sky Digibox. Some sets (eg. Beko) don't respond to the Digibox remote control.

There's a survey of TV compatibility which is worth a look.
