I have a budget of £1000 MAX but need a set with at least a 36 inch screen. Is there anything available in plasma or lcd or am I limited to crt. Any ideas please?

I definately recommend the Panasonic PW7 plasma. Richer sounds have the screen for £999 but I assume it's without input boards. You can probably pick up the boards (s-video, component etc) off the internet or eBay for about £70 - £120. Search Kelkoo for Panasonic TH37PW7 and you may find a better deal. I bought the 42" version a few months back and was absolutely blown away by the quality (especially on dark films such as sleep hollow).

Whatever you do, DON'T be seduced by cheaper screens such as Tiny or Techwood. Save up and buy a good quality screen. £1000 (or a bit more) can buy a good quality 37" plasma.
