Question Best second hand floorstanders for under £200?

I currently have the Tannoy V4's in the lighter wood. I really like the speakers but the wife hates the colour as it doesn't go with the room. I'm looking at selling them and picking up the darker wood ones which you can buy used for about £120-£150

Should I be considering any other floorstanders in the price range or are the V4's as good as it gets at that price point?

They will be paired with a Marantz Pm6005 amp

The Monitor Audio BX5 would be worth a look as would the floorstander in the Focal 700 series.

£200 Each ...or.... £200 per Pair?

The New Tannoy Mercury V4i are about £250/pr, and purchased new, you should get your choice of finishes.

Superfi - Tannoy Mercury V4i Speakers (Pair)

Currently, while supply lasts, you can get the Wharfedale Diamond 155 with 2x6.5" bass drivers (165mm) for about £250/pr -

Wharfedale Diamond 155 Walnut Pearl Floorstanding Speaker (Pair) - Wharfedale - AudioVisual Online - Home Cinema and Hifi Specialists

Wharfedale Diamond 155 Cinnamon Cherry Floorstanding Speaker (Pair) - Wharfedale - AudioVisual Online - Home Cinema and Hifi Specialists

Those Diamond 155 are half-price.

Baring in mind you should be able to get a bit for your existing speakers if they are in good condition. Say about £100 or so, and that would lower the cost of the new speakers.

I know you are probably looking for used speaker, and that's fine. I'm just offering and alternate approach.
