Hi all - gonna give android a whirl so looking at the 2nd hand market. I know nothing about android (missus has iphone) so looking for some good pointers as to what I could get for about £100 on these very forums second hand.

Looking for opinions and not sales leads please. If your opinion does tie up top a phone that is for sale I have nop problem but please be open with me.

    thanks fellas/gals.

HTC Desire / Samsung Galaxy S - should have no problems picking either one up for under £100

Or if you're lucky you could get something more recent like the Sony Ericcson Xperia Neo

Another option is the Orange San Francisco 2, new for £99

Hands on: Orange San Francisco 2 review | News | TechRadar

Or get an Orange Monte Carlo £100 from Argos its easily unlocked and simple too install a new rom to rid yourself of the orange bloatware.
The OMC is basically an SF2 but with a bigger screen.

If you want to experience Android I would go with the San Francisco (original or V2) or an original Google Nexus One. It's pure Android, not HTC Sense with something that used to look like Android underneath.

Three were offering a Sony live with Walkman phone for £100 on payg. You'd need to find an unlock but its better specced than the sf2 and once and has supposedly been confirmed as getting the upgrade to ice cream sandwich. That said if you root and are confide t you'll be able to flash roms the development pace behind the sf3 and once as 2nd to none and you'll have loads of roms to pick your favourite from
