Watching True Romance with the Tarantino commentry last night and he was talking about the scene with Denis Hopper and Christopher Walken saying how good the scene.
For a long time I have considered it to be one of the best scenes in a film.
I'd probably list as my two favouite scenes - not including SFX in film to be

1 - Hopper & Walken True Romance (as above)
2 - Robert De Niro - final scene in Raging Bull - 'I could have been a contender'

    Any offers ?

    Road to perdition

    Scene in the CAFÉ

Tom Hanks realising that the young journalist played by Jude Law is actually a hit man come to kill him . The look in Toms eyes as he stares down the camera lens , not many actors can do this .
wow what a powerful scene !

Ok I'm going out on a limb with this one but the last scene in Rambo (the "I can't your legs" monologue) always amazes me.
After bottling it up for the entire film and trying to remain a professional soldier, Rambo John J just snaps and becomes very human... granted not much of the dialogue is audible but anyone who slags off Mr Stallone's acting should watch that scene.

    Jackie Brown...

Scenes ranging from when Ordelle & Lewis arrive back at Mel's apartement (sam L jackson's character's payed for new clothing for De Niro's & says he looks like a 'bum') in Hermosa beach, up until Jackie is having dinner with Ray...

There's nothing special about them, dialogue isn't flashy and nothing really happens, but it's just such a brilliant example of tarantino's style of directing & writing - dialogue, acting and direction which is convincing in every way.

I can watch these scenes over and over and still never get bored.

Who knew bridget fonda could act?

Once Upon A Time In The West.........

Claudia Cardinale's arrival at train station.......camera sweeping over building to wide espanse of busy town (cue fanatastic morricone score).

Killers waiting for Bronson's character to arrive by train.

    For emotional kick;

Tne final scene in Cinema Paradiso where the grown up Toto puts on the film left for him by the recently deceased Alfredo.

I watched the movie last night for the first time in several years. It's one ofg the few movies that brings on the tears every time.

(Watched the Directors cut - could have done without all that catch up junk. Much better in original form.

Lara Croft dog sleighing (without the sledge) at the end of Tomb Raider makes me happy - bought the DVD pretty much for that scene alone.

Just about any scene in Amelie - the end seduction scene if I had to choose one.

Two scenes that bring me to smile are in Gladiator (when he reveals himself to the Emperor), and in The Matrix (when Neo stops the bullets with his hands).

The Matrix scene also gives me goose bumps :)

    OUCH!

This scene always makes me cringe and in fact shows Sly at his worst...when he has to speak!

Worse than his 'Yo Adrian I did it' speech in Rocky 2.

    Bladerunner, Roy batty death scene:

'I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.'

    You mean

“I want, what they want, and every other guy who came over here and spillet his guts and gave all he had, wants.
For our country to love us as much as we love it.
    That’s what I want”

Unforgiven, the showdown, is such a brilliant scene. OK, it's not exactly sophisticated, but you just so want the man Clint to start blasting away:

"All right now, I'm comin' out. Any man I see out there, I'm gonna shoot him. Any sumbitch takes a shot at me, I'm not only gonna kill him, but I'm gonna kill his wife. All his friends. Burn his damn house down."

Well, I think he's made his position pretty clear, then.

Garret ur describing the end of Rambo 2, anyways one of my fav scene is charlize theron sprawled on the bed in 2 days in the valley she has certain qualities i like and thats an underrated film.

The scene at the end of Leon where the fantastic music plays and leon tells matilda he loves her is powerful cinema, a moment in The Rock where sean connery destroys half of san francisco with his humvee and nic cage wrecks a perfectly good ferrari.

The exchanges between jodie foster and hopkins in the silence of the lambs, the sequel was hammy by comparison.

The speech alfre woodard makes to picard about blowing up the ship and captain ahab at the end of star trek first contact is a fantastic little scene it made that whole film seem more than just a trek film and is a gem.

One of my fav ever scenes is Yoda acting so superbly in star wars episode 2 he makes ewan mcgregor and sam l jackson look like puppets.

The end of "Boyz in the Hood" when the lad is shot and and his friends/brother take his body back to mum and she starts crying. one of the most powerfully things i've ever seen.

Or the twist at the end of "Manon Des Sources" thats a choker too.

I watched True Romance a couple of weeks ago and the Walker/Hopper scene was a killer - an acting masterclass.

In "Shiri" at the beginning when the film shows you the brutal training regime, makes Full Metal Jacket look like a Butlins camp.
