Which of these 3 is the best scaler: Cinemateq Picture Optimizer Plus II SDI or Lumagen Vision HDP (SDI)or DVDO Iscan HD+ (SDI) ?
Does the launch of the VP30 change anything?

If your looking purely at the spec sheets then the Lumagen VisionHDP is (arguably) the best (in terms of Video processing) of the bunch in your short list - though note the HDP 'base' model doesn't include the SDI inputs!

SDI along with Analogue RGBHV Output on BNC is a factory option if you require them.

The NEW iScan VP30 looks interesting and definitely puts the iScan feature-set back on par with what Lumagen (and others) have been delivering for a while!

The trick with all of these products is understanding the technology and understanding what you are trying to achieve - if all three processors were of equal quality then its down to you or your supplier to ensure you get each unit optimised for use in your system.

For folk with HD capable Displays Lumagen have said they still intend to implement 1080i deinterlacing on Analogue and Digital signals in the VisionHDP and ProHDP - which will be pretty unique at this price level.

As ever it is definitely worth having a look see before you make a purchase.

    Best regards

    Joe
