I have been using an Apple Airport Extreme router for years. Wireless has been ok, but I always had trouble with Sonos and some other devices.
I recently upgraded my Virgin Media connection and they sent me a free SuperHub so I thought I'd give it a try.
Wireless connection to my main Mac (out of necessity placed as far from the router as possible!) is much better and I get the full 100Mb BB speed according to Speedtest. Sonos also seems to run better and with less drop outs with this router than it did with the Apple router alone or the Apple router with Sonos Boost connected to it. I have yet to try Sonos with the Boost on this router.
The only disappointment has been my Belkin WeMo switches that were really good with the Apple router, but only have about half the range with this one.
It has got me thinking, if I am prepared to pay a bit more, is there a really good router that will improve on all aspects of Wifi?
