anyone recommend a good online retailer for getting a game to you on or possibly b4 the actual release date? I have pre-ordered stuff before (cant remember where from) only to be disappointed on the day of release as I have been told due to royal mail it will take a couple of days to get to me - anyone got any tip offs?

    www.shopto.net

I got Colin McRae Dirt 3 days before release.
I have pre ordered PES2008 with them for this very reason!

Slightly off topic but I have just registered an account with shopto but when it comes to adding card details the site isnt showing as secure so I cant preorder anything. Anyone else have this problem, I am using IE if thats any use.

Whatever you do, don't use Virgin.

Ordered Heavenly Sword on Friday as it is £29 and it hasn't even been posted yet !!!!

I think Shopto isnt that secure, I used Safari but when and where locks(secure pages) appeared seemed odd. Hate their search engine too. They're fast and cheap if thats all you're looking for.

I used to use Play.com a lot, but given up as they are always delivering post release now, turns up Sat or sometimes Monday - i'm in London so its not like i live in the sticks...

Mostly i use GamePlay.co.uk for UK releases or videogamesplus.ca for overseas ones. Both reliable and ship well.

i always use videogamesplus for usa games, tend to be anywhere from 3days to 1wk for delivery after usa realese date for game. and for uk games always use gameplay cause tend to be cheap and always get it 1-2days before uk realese

Play.com usually get it to you the day before release, I am banking on this trend continuing for Pro Evo, I am off on the Friday and will be gutted if I haven't got it.

I'm having a nightmare with Virgin too :thumbsdow
I had Warhawk on pre order for a month then they emailed last night to say they had cancelled it with out any explanation at all
I've tried to order from them again, now it says it's on back order
Think I might just cancel and pay the extra from Play
But I can't see me getting it tomorrow now :(

I guess (hope) i'm one of the lucky ones.

I ordered Warhawk from Virgin last weekend, then a few days ago it's status went to back order which worried me

But yesterday it was proccessing, and now it dispatched

It's bad that they just cancel orders.

This was my first pre order with Virgin.
