I've just signed up to the 500 minute tariff on 3G but was wondering if there is any way of using a smaller handset on this network?
I understand it would have to be unlocked but what would the most compatible one be (I'm not interested in photo or video messaging btw) ?

If you had an old Simm (Between March and August 2003) then you get away with using the Samsung T100. But unfortunately on all the new simms it will only work for a couple of days then it will get blocked.
I am lead to believe that the Motorala A830 will work as this can use all simms.

    D'Oh

I've got the Motorola A835. It's okay'ish but the battery life seems a bit lame. It's a shame they haven't got any handsets for folk who are not interested in all the video/photo nonsense

Are you in a 3G signal range at the moment?? If you are do you get the choice to switch to O2 as well as 3G on your manual network settings on your handset??

yes the A835 battery is a bit short. but all the 3 phones are like that.

The A835 is a Very high spec phone though..... make a few vidi clips, record a few things.... watch all the football goals and is can go fast.

    Good fun though

I have ordered the A835 on the 750 mins contract - free phone and £17.50 a month for all 12 months, thats good I would say.

The phone is great I think, get your Bluetooth headset and tuck the big fella away...and the phone hehe. Think everyone has got used to the teenie weenie phones and need to go retro and get something like the A835 that you can stand on to clean your upstairs windows......
