I recommend sticking to branded media as, in my experience, it offers the best compatibility with burners, reliability and durability: HP, JVC, Maxell, Panasonic, Pioneer, Sony, TDK, Verbatim are all good choices. Others will be able to suggest cheapest places to buy but I have found a very good service forthcoming from the following online stores:

    SVP

    DVD And Media

    Digital Promotions

Thanx. I have 100 Ritek x4 printables in stock from digital promo which are unopened at the moment.

I am particularly looking for a "printable" -R 8x that will work in the Tosh XS32, Pioneer 107D (Firmware 1.20) and NEC 2500a PC drives.

Digital Promo are very helpful and have sent me a free sample for my Sony 201 DVD camcorder (although they do charge for a normal sample pack). This may be an option.

Any Ideas on what other XS 32 owners use??

I haven't burnt that many discs on my XS32 yet, but so far my results have been:

    * Memorex branded spindle of 10 from Staples - 4 or 5 had read errors, so I wouldn't buy these again
    * Panasonic branded from Panasonic eShop - burnt about 6 with no apparent problems, but DVDInfo on the PC reported that it had to retry on some the sectors when doing a read test.
    * Verbatim "pastel" in packs of 5 for £2-75 from SVP - burnt 10 or 15 of these and so far all perfect (including DVDInfo read test)

Personally I'm sticking with the Verbatims for now - maybe not the cheapest, but so far no coasters !

(BTW, so far my Pioneer 108 in the PC has produced perfect results from all three brands of discs)

    Regards,
    John

On a related topic... could I just ask what brand and speed of RW discs people are using on their XS32?

datawrite grey 8x are working well so far, TDK-RW's (not scratchproof) also going well. Samsung branded that were given to me at Richer Sounds when i bought the machine are proving unreliable.
