    Guys,

Sorry for so many posts but i'm rushing to buy all the cables required before the builders plaster all my new cables in place.

I'm not using high end kit (Tosh DVD / Samsung LCD) but don't want to put in place a naff HDMI cable. Ebuyer have some for about £5....are these going to be useless ?

Am I going to notice any real difference on my level of kit if I go up to a £40 cable like the Profigold PGV1002 HDMI A cable ? Are there better options sub £40 ?

    TIA,
    Mike.

A Molex 2m HDMI will cost under £20.00 and deliver everything you require of an HDMI cable - Molex invented the technology so you can be sure the cables meet the basic spec.

    Best regards

Went for the molex in the end - was a little dissapointed to find it had no gold connectors....does this make a difference ?....think the £8 Ebuyer cable did !

I guess for my level of kit it probably won't make a massive difference.......

Why do you want gold-plated connectors? A firm nickel-nickel connection is perfectly good.

On the subject, if an HDMI cable works at all, it works just as well as any other. Such is the nature of digital bitstreams.

    Hello mjw123,

The molex has gold plated pins inside the connector shell.

It is the shell that is dull looking nickel, that is just for the earth connection for the outer screening, so you will be OK, Molex are good for the price :)

I will put some on my website as soon as I get chance.

    Mark.
