Does anyone know where the best deals are on the awesome Arcam av8/p7 combi?
Send a PM to NicolasB, he's sure to know!!
Or do a search, as I know he has quoted figures and shop names before.
thanks for the advice
Did you find some prices in the end? To save NicolasB from endless PMs can you post the url to any threads you found, or better still some prices with shops
Most 'official' Arcam FMJ dealers will 'unofficially' give you 10% off ... to get any more off you would probably need to buy some other kit at the same time that has a better markup ...
Sevenoaks in Hull offered me a good deal with all the neccessary interconnects (Chord cable) needed between the processor and the amp.The were also willing to offer a good deal on the new M&K 850 surround pack which i was amazed by in terms of sound quality.
Okay, I'll answer this one more time, but any more than that and certain Arcam dealers will probably put out a contract on me.
It's been a while since I rang around looking for a good price on an AV8, so things may have changed since then. Several stores were prepared to offer a price of <£2700 (sometimes <£2600) on their demo units. The two best prices I was quoted for a new AV8 were:
- Peter Tyson in Carlisle (website here) who quoted £2600 including (if desired) a buy-now-pay-later deal (of the sort that gives you 0% interest for 12 months and the option to pay off the balance then, but charges you massive amounts of interest after that if you don't).
- Listen Inn in Northampton who quoted me £2500.
I would imagine either would be able to give you a fairly good price on a P7 as well. I'm also told that one can get a very good deal on an AV8/P7 bundle from Cloney Audio in Dublin (website here) - presumably because you'd be buying in Euros. I have no idea whether they deliver to mainland Britain.
I can also endorse Peter Tysons as an excellent dealer for this kit.
