Best I can find is about the £380 mark in stock. Anyone know of a better price? Cheers T

£380 is a good price. The cheapest I have seen it is £390 including delivery. If you can do away with one or two extra features, the 812 can be had for about £50 less.

Cheers. Yeah. But the MACC is just the sort of toy I can imagine spending hours mucking about with.

That was my thinking when I bought one. The thing is, when I do run it, I end up tweaking the settings anyway. I should've saved myself £50 and bought the 812
That aside, I have been more than happy with my purchase so far.

Ah. interesting. Do you really need a sound meter to set your system up properly or is that What HiFi being anal?

I've thought about buying an SPL meter but never got around to it. Just wanted one so I can compare it to the MCACC set up on the Pioneer. So far, I have managed without one. I'm not really into HC as yet so I am happy with my set up as it is. Perhaps to the audiophile, my system might not sound right to them. The way I see it is if I'm happy with it, why care what anyone else thinks :) I very much doubt that no two people have the same set up anyway.

Thats refreshing. I'm inclined to agree. Half the fun is tweaking the setup anyway. Or as my gf puts it "can't you leave the bloody thing alone!"

    Quick update...

Set the amp up. Fed the EGG L & R Surround cables into the wrong connectors ( bit unclear there Pioneer!), reset them and plugged the splitter SW cable into the SW. Spent 7 very enjoyable hours with my favourite test discs..Ronin, Minority Report, Bourne Identity etc ...and then went down to apologise to the neighbours below for nearly kicking plaster off their ceiling! Absolutley stunning sound!!! DVD is fantastic with huge detail and records are awe inspiring. Best buy I ever made!!!!

BTW - got the 812 from digitaldirectuk.com. Great service from a guy called Mike. £307 plus £9.99 Amtrak. Looked at others but a few pounds saving at best and most were out of stock anyway.
