    Hi all,

I'm looking to get rid of my last bit of non-arcam kit, a Denon 2900 DVD player. I'm sending to a Panasonic PA-20 42" plasma without HDMI input, so component is the video signal of choice. Having read all the threads regarding the various de-interlacing chips in the DV-79 / 88 / 89 / 27 etc etc, could somebody venture the definitive opinion on which Arcam DVD player offers the absolute best picture via component?

oh, and would it be a noticeable difference from my Denon?

last thing, I want DVD-A as well!!

    ta!

The best picture wouold probably be from the Arcam FMJ DV27A whic has only recently been superceded by the DV29. The DV27A offers a progressive component output via a Sil504 board which is regarded as one of the best around. The newer DV29 does (in my opinion) offer a superior picture but only when used through a HDMI connection. The DV27A also offer DVD-A playback which was your other requirement.
