hi, comet are making the final decision tomorrow if their going to replace my samsung ps50p96fd plasma. Ive had it 18 months and is covered by D&G extended warranty. If they decide to replace it, what do you guys think i should accept as a replacement, they no longer make the origional model, the new samsungs seem to be a much lower spec, the one i bought was top of the range, their first full hd, cost £1,600, seems they took some of the spec out to make them cheaper. this is the spec of my sammy. i dont want to settle for less than i already have, thanks

hi, well D&G have just got back to me with an offer for the samsung PS50A557S3, do you think this is a good swop?, it doesnt have an svideo port, i would of prefered the PANASONIC TH-50PZ80BA or the SAMSUNG PS50A656, its nearer the £1500, im paid for my origional plasma. am i asking to much?

thanks

I think you should be looking to get a plasma of similar value to when you bought you Samsung, if yo can get one get a Panasonic P50G10. Or just get a cheque and put it towards either a Pioneer (preferable) or the G10, the Pioneers are going up in price though, the 5090 is currently £1700 in Richer Sounds but should go up soon, the G10 is suprisingly cheap if you do some searching, under £1500 anyway

Insurance doesnt work like that. Even though you paid £1600 for it, you are not entitled to a set that costs £1600 today. You are entitled to receive a set of similar quality.
And as the price of sets decreases each year that inevitably means your replacement will cost less.

The latest sets have better contrast /blacks. What features did your P96 have that are not on the 556?
