I have quite a large collection (vast mix) and really don't know anyplace to sell them in bulk

I want to avoid ebay and gumtree hasn't sparked any interest.. any suggestions?

I also have a semi-broken player i want to sell if possible :p

    Boo and indeed hiss.

Have to keep laserdisc alive. Some great releases on there which are unlikely ever to see the light of day on the current formats.

    Viva la laserdisc!

I'd buy from you but given that I do not know you and I live in another part of the world I see that shipping will be difficult. I heard they had to be packaged in a certain way.

How much are you willing to part with them?

I've got a modest collection that I've been thinking of selling along with my CLD D925 but just haven't had the heart to, especially considering the meagre amount of money I would get back

Seen the 925 sell for over £100 on the bay a few times in recent months, I still have mine and I'm tempted to let it go too

Beyond me why anyone would collect laserdisc now  Got shot of mine many years ago. Remember paying £35-£45 per film and being wowed by it, but it's so old now and looks utter crap, even DVD looks rubbish nowadays. and laserdisc is way behind that.

May I offer an alternative use?

You can buy clip frames for 12" vinyl albums, to display as artwork.

Buy some of these, select the appropriate LaserDiscs, and voila - instant poster collection.

there VERY collectable and can be worth a LOT of money it's not about the quality of the movies plus it's YOUR opinion if they don't look as good

some would argue the opposite at least when sound quality is conserned ;)

I sold my player and about 100 discs on here 4-5 years ago, the discs are worth around £1-2 each and very collectible discs maybe £5-25ea.

A player runs about £25-50 if you are lucky, like mr grumpie said it's way past it's sell by date now.

HDDVD players and discs are much better than laserdisc and are worth about the same (£1-2 per disc).

Well no, it's actually a statement of fact. BD is technically superior in every way. Arguing for LD as a collector's format is one thing, but suggesting that it's merely opinion that it is inferior is another.

I collect laserdiscs and currently have about 400 titles, however I don't collect them for the video quality as at best they can only compare with DVD,however when it comes to cover art and the general feeling of movie ownership it can't be beaten IMO
I currently have a few laserdisc players which include a cld925 that I picked up for £20 and another pioneer player that was given to from a member on this forum, other than rare elite or Japanese players you would do well to get anything over £100 for one of the later pioneer players in good condition and between £1 and £2 per disc for all but the rarer titles
I also have a large collection of Blu-ray Discs and these can't really be beaten for audio and video quality on newer titles

No it's not my opinion, it really is fact. Laserdisc looks awful by DVD standards, let alone the age of HD that we now live in.

Laserdiscs aren't really worth much either, £1 a disc? That's what they generally go for on ebay.

Not really. Compared to DVD in some cases yes, but lossless audio? I don't think so :)

I collected laserdisc for many years and I still miss the feeling of opening those lovely gatefolds (but I don't miss the price). But LD is history, dim and distant, and you shouldn't take offence about 20 year old technology not being worth much.

calm down ladies i only said 'it's YOUR opinion if they don't look as good' as in some people prefer the older grainier look i never once compared the quality to blu-rays or hd like your all making out :p
