I've got up to 600 to spend on a speaker package which consists of 2 fronts, 2 rears, 1 center, 1 sub & if possible, the cable. What are the best packages around this price range & what sites are recommended? Opinions please

    Can you got to £650?

Monitor Audio Bronze B2 AV from www.hifibitz.co.uk is what I may choose to upgrade to in a few weeks...

I'm about to purchase the Yamaha DSPAX750 SE & I also want a package to connect to that amp. I've looked at what seems 1000 speakers & I can't make up my mind? :suicide:

I recently picked up the Monitor Audio B4 Bronze package excluding sub for £550 from Roy Jowett. Absolute bargain and stunning performance. Why not go for this and then save for the sub.

They will all work fine although I can of course particularly vouch for the premieres.

The Acoustic energy EVO3 B is an excellent pack if you have room for it with movies and music.

I thought that the £549 for the Genie speakers was too good to be true:( I checked the other day and that was the price, but when I checked again today they are £799 like pretty much everyone else :(

I don't know whether this was a mistake on their part and if anyone managed to grab them at this price.... well done if you did!

Now that it looks like that offer doesn't exist does anyone know where the cheapest place to get the Genie package is currently? I'm guessing there won't be great offers as they are brand new and getting excellent reviews and would therefore be popular.

Before these were released I was looking at the Kef eggs but I read in several places that Kef forced dealers to sell them for the full RRP to keep up the image of them as a top premium product. There were also limits on distance selling and stuff as well, although some dealers managed to get around some stuff by throwing in free cables etc. Does anyone know if this is the case with Mourdaunt Short as well or are they more sensible? :)

ps I also thought that the price was too good to be true since they have only just been released.

I'm assuming you mean Bronze B4? I bought from Roy Jowett. £549 excl. sub. £750 with. I went for the £549 deal and picked up a MS309 sub for £229. These were the chepaest I could find by a good margin.

I have to say they are fantastic speakers. I demoed them head to head with the AE Evo 3B package. I found the MA package had are far better centre, and the BFX bi-pole surrounds knocked spots of the AEs. I found nothing to chose between them in 'pure direct' stereo.
