Hi all, I'm searching for a pj 80% of the time exclusively for playing GT4 Pal and 20% for films.

I'm doubting between the Panasonic AE700 and Sanyo Z3. My throw distance is 2.2 m and I would like to have the best image quality posible for a 60 fps interlaced PAL signal(GT4 PAL output).

Anyone have any of this pj and play GT4 PAL? please if you can post pictures to see the image quality I would thank for it(would be great to see the IQ differences between pause/movement).

And to finish some questions: (better if are referenced to GT4)

-Are the blacks in the Z3 so bad? are the AE700 better?
-The in-game scaled IQ of the Z3 is really better than the AE700?
-Are the output of the Z3 too pixelated compared to the 'smoothscreen' of the AE700?
-The picture have more interlaced artifacts(or pixelation) than a crt tv? or the converted progressive retains the same Tv detail?
-The overscan cut the game image?
-The pj convert a 50 fps interlaced signal to 50 fps progressive or to 25 fps interpolated progressive?(I don´t want to loose framerate!)
-Are any minor lag playing games with any of this pj?

Very thanks in advance, and sorry for my bad english. :)

I have the Z3 and I have gran turismo 4, I have'nt actually tried it yet but I can tell you that the blacks are not too bad on the Z3 and the image is very clean.
I've heard that in theatre black mode the Z3 has better blacks than the ae700 but have never seen the panasonic so could not say for certain.
The picture on the Z3 does not appear pixelated and the throw distance is much shorter than the panasonic.
I'll try and get it set up and have a test for you but it will probably not be tonight.
also the overscan can easily be adjusted on the Z3 so you don't have to worry about that.
I was about to change the Z3 for the ae700 as it was awkward with the short throw distance but I like the picture too much so I'm keeping it.

I'll connect it up tonight and post my findings, I don't finish work until 10pm though so it will be quite late.
One thing I will say though is that I set the projector up last night using rone's settings and the picture is just awesome, I was stunned by how good it looks.

Rone is a forum member who posted his settings for the projector after he calibrated it.
The black levels are fine once you get the settings right so don't worry about that.

Right I've tested it with Gran turismo 4.
The blacks look awesome and will not be an issue.
I don't know what you mean by scaled IQ!
The picture does not look pixelated through component. It's nice and sharp and smooth. The picture has much more detail than tv cos the picture is huge and just as sharp.
Overscan is not an issue as it can be adjusted in the Z3's menu.
As far as I know you will not lose framerate.
    There is no lag whatsoever.

All I can say mate is it looks flaming awesome.

    p.s. Sorry for the delay.

Just done a bit more playing and I realised I did'nt have the focus quite right, Adjusted it and it is absolutely pin sharp and the detail is awesome.
I'm quite surprised by how good it looks to be honest . I was expecting there to be a drop off in picture quality due to the size but it's the best I've ever seen it.
    Can't recommend it enough.

I tried tekken 4 with progressive as well and it looked superb.
I found the best results with the video setting and iris at -53 and the theatre black mode on.
Really sharp and nice deep blacks.

I've been trying to get a decent screenshot to no avail.
Any tips for taking pictures of the projector screen?

First switch off the camera flash and try to take a shot, if the picture's blurs then you need to take a tripod or stable surface.

For a perfect picture you can pause the game or stop the car and then take the photo with a slow shutter priority(tripod needed).

    I hope that can help.
