Just in the process of returning my newly-acquired BenQ PE5120 after a dead one turned up last week. Set it up as per the instructions, plugged it in and waited for the "orange lamp" to light and the fans to kick-in - and then waited some more... DOA!

Lost a bit of faith in this one since BenQ can't replace it till middle of next week. By which time the InFocus SP 4805 may have come down in price some more.

What do you reckon my best option is?

I thought I already had this decision down!
    Thanks again

    Get a replacement.

I've had great support from BenQ and the warranty is 3 years.

Also a great PJ. You'll not regret it.

Agreed with Cyberheater...I think you can`t get anything better for £500!

Still using mine...no probs so far and lovin' it

    :smashin:

I think if your new one turns up with problems, then is the time to lose faith and look elsewhere!!

If you are also unlucky with the replacement, the Epson TW10H from OYYY may be a good alternative in that price range...PJ :)

You don't think the Screenplay 4805 or the ThemeScene H30A will be coming down anywhere near there then?

just by way of an update... the replacement arrived on friday from benq - they'd had to get one from holland as they were out of stock in the uk. this one did turn on, but pretty soon began to click ludly and then shake - i think something was catching the fans. needless to say, i have now lost faith in this model and its creators and will be looking elsewhere for my home movie fixes... thanks for your help though everyone.

don't know whether to go for the epson tw10h now and wait for what the next round of products will bring or jump in with an h30a or pannasonic ae700 - ideas...?

    thanks again, benjiP

Z3 and flog the bulb, this would get you to almost £500 you want to spend for a top notch projeector.
