hornydragon, what about using a Pioneer 402 and a JS converter and then feeding scart into the 402 from both DVD and Sky?

    a) Is that feasible and if so
    b) Do you think the DVD quality would be seriously compromised?

Only asking to see whether it would be feasible getting a Panny without buying an extra board.

Also, the Pioneer 502 has been released since you first recommended the 402. Woulod you know if that has any merit over and above the 402 (it still has the 4 scart sockets)?

    Many thanks.

What other equipment do you have?

None of the cables mentioned will carry 5.1 sound. You can only watch Sky in dolby digital if it is Sky +. To do this, you will have to take a optical cable from the back of the Sky + box to your amp/receiver (If it has an optical imput).

If you give some more info on your equipment, somebody will be able to advise on your best options.
