I think it would be hard to beat Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers EE (PAL R2) for picture quality from a standard DVD.

For a 35 year old film, Once Upon A Time In The West is absolutely superb.

Starship Troopers and The Fast & The Furious Superbit editions are also up there with the best of them.

    Monster's inc R2
    Ice Age R2
    Two Tower's R2

Black hawk down has a very impressive pic R2

    Gladiator R2

I disagree about the 5th element , I bought the SE two disk set last week and found it a disapointment (superbit is much better, different source) , I noticed quite a few dirty marks on the transfer , still a great film though .

Best picture on a disc ive ever seen is The Nightmare Before Christmas region 2 original version, stable sharp clear and extremely detailed picture, bitrate almost stays at 10 for the entire film, good Dolby 5.1 soundtrack too although rears see limited use.

What about the best leads to use? I bought a RGB to RGB lead thinking it would go straight from my dvd player to the component RGB sockets on the tv and all I get on the screen is "Invalid Scan Freq".
    Anyone know why?

    Cheers,:lease:
