what is the best dvd for pictue quality or video quality?
thanx 7of 9
dvd player or demo disc?
I think it would be hard to beat Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers EE (PAL R2) for picture quality from a standard DVD.
The Fifth Element - Superbit of course but the standard ed. is no short of amazing on picture quality.
for disc quality the thin red line R2 has some crystal clear images
manalaus, i mean demo disc, and i just mean overall which dvd has best picture quality ever?
i am not talking about dvd players.
thanks 7 of 9
Gladiator has a very clean transfer with plenty of detail.
For a 35 year old film, Once Upon A Time In The West is absolutely superb.
I find the test patterns on avia to be extremely well mastered!
The space shuttle sequences on Digital Video Essentials are the best DVD pictures I've ever seen.
The Matrix reloaded is a fabulous transfer
Starship Troopers and The Fast & The Furious Superbit editions are also up there with the best of them.
Monster's inc R2
Ice Age R2
Two Tower's R2
Black hawk down has a very impressive pic R2
I disagree about the 5th element , I bought the SE two disk set last week and found it a disapointment (superbit is much better, different source) , I noticed quite a few dirty marks on the transfer , still a great film though .
here's some of my favourite eye candy!
Hollow Man R1
The Rock Criterion R1
LOTR FOTR R1
LOTR TTT R2
Final destination 2 R1
Blade 2 R1
Monsters Inc R2
Black Hawk Down Superbit R3
The Fifth Element Superbit R1
The Transporter Jap R2
Star Wars AOTC R1
Toy Story 1 & 2 R1
T2 Extreme edition R1
The Pledge R1
Vertical Limit Superbit RI
The Mummy returns Superbit R2
The Perfect Storm R1
Moulin Rouge R1
Die Hard 2 Die Harder Sp Ed R1
Pearl Harbour R1
Training Day R1
Remember the Titans R1
Looks even better on the PAL version!
Best picture on a disc ive ever seen is The Nightmare Before Christmas region 2 original version, stable sharp clear and extremely detailed picture, bitrate almost stays at 10 for the entire film, good Dolby 5.1 soundtrack too although rears see limited use.
What about the best leads to use? I bought a RGB to RGB lead thinking it would go straight from my dvd player to the component RGB sockets on the tv and all I get on the screen is "Invalid Scan Freq".
Anyone know why?
Final Fantasy 7 : Advent Children (R1)
omg did you just dig up a nearly 3 year old thread to ask something unrelated?
i dunno which has the best picture, but im happy with early seasons of roseanne.
I find dvd is best for video quality.
