Best picture and sound settings for Panasonic TXL32X15?

Hi everyone, after recently purchasing TXL32X15(B) from Richer Sounds and finding the picture a bit too bright (and way too colourful) what would be the best settings for this TV for watching Sky (HDMI) and playing a few games @ 720p (also through HDMI) on the PS3 and Xbox 360?

As for the colour problems, I seem to be getting "smearing" with reds on the TV. Like they are just too bright. Could it be that my HDMI leads aren't up to the job, or is it just a fine tuning issue?

And could anyone point me in the right direction as to the best sound setup for the Panny?

Just play with the settings until you are happy with the image. The HDMI cables will have no bearing on the image whatsoever.

Turning the backlight down (if its available in the menu) will also reduce brightness
